Naturally OT

Just like the practice of Occupational therapy itself, this podcast is currently a work in progress! Naturally OT is an Occupational Therapy podcast, where we explore OT and a variety of other health related topics! I hope to be able to share my passion for Occupational therapy and so much more, as well as explore stories from other therapists and healthcare professionals, interviews with students and new grads, and explore practical strategies that everyone can use from the OT field!

Sunday Apr 30, 2023

As therapists and people that care for other people, we often put all of our energy into helping others and leave our own self care behind. Today I want to chat about the importance of self care and what that might look like for you. Remember everyone is different so this podcast is intended for you to do some self reflection and start making your own self care plans

Today's episode was unplanned - I was out for a nature walk while up north and found a quiet little spot that I just could not walk away from! I took off my shoes to practice earthing and I felt like I needed to do my favourite mindful meditation exercise to ground myself after this busy week!

Welcome to episode 3 of the Naturally OT podcast! Today we are exploring the VERY BASICS of what Occupational Therapy as a profession is. Occupational Therapy is a very broad field - each OT has a different scope of practice, so today we are just exploring the absolute basics, just a little taste of what our career looks like
Let me know what we should talk about in future episodes!

Today's episode is the beginning of the miniseries called "Practical pieces". This will be a series leading you through a variety of strategies I use with my clients that you can use at home or send along to someone who may need it! This week we are taking ourselves to the beach in this short guided visualization.
Please note that just like most things in life, visualizations are not one size fits all ! If you don't connect with this, it is OKAY! Do what works best for you
